♥ With Love From Italy…

They met at NC State and began dating during their senior year. Just after they began dating she took off for a semester abroad in Italy, and it was then that they really fell in love; writing each other sweet emails, sending pictures and letters from across the ocean.
They went to Disney World to celebrate a late Valentine’s Day/early third anniversary. She had a hunch that this would be the perfect time to propose but she wasn’t going to be upset if she was wrong. They went to Epcot and walked around World Showcase pretty quickly, and as they were walking through the Italy pavilion, he said “we need to come back here later when it gets dark.” She thought, aha! So after dinner they walked back to Italy and he proposed by the water.

This was a special wedding because Lydia designed our website, it wasn’t long before she became a fan and asked us to capture her story. We knew that there would be tons of great details at this wedding; one of our favorites was the custom bouquets and boutonnieres made from felt and buttons, which were carried out on the cake as well. Lydia wanted a very eclectic, artsy feel, and we think she definitely achieved it! Our team did a great job capturing this beautiful story! Prestonwood Country Club Wedding | Sally + Hunter

The Meeting…
They went to high school together and all through high school they lived in the same neighborhood, but they never dated until after college. She went to NC State and is a HUGE wolfpack fan. He went to Appalachian State but is now more of a NC State fan.
He asked her out to dinner saying; “you could at least get a free meal out of it, a girls got to eat.” He told her it was going to be alot of friends from high school but little did she know it was more like a triple date. They ate dinner then went bowling. Keeping the ring her mom gave her in his pocket for her while she was bowling, he made sure she would have to see him again to get her ring back when he took the ring home.

The Proposal…
“I have been 150mph in a car, peppered sprayed, tazered, attacted by a police dog, busted in doors…. And I have never had my breath taken away like I did that night” he said…
He bought a sweater for Prissy, their little dog. Before dinner with both their families he had Sally go over to his house. When she arrived he asked her to have a seat; “me and prissy have a surprise for you” he said. He took Prissy upstairs to put the sweater on her and put the ring in the pocket of the sweater with a ribbon attached and let a little bit of it hang out of the pocket. When they came downstairs he put Prissy down and she ran up to Sally and jumped in her lap. Sally saw the ribbon and pulled it out with the ring hanging right in her face, eye level. She looked up to find Hunter on one knee, “she had the happiest look on her face that webster cannot define” he said. He asked her and she just shook her head YES!

“Toni! Chris! I am blown away by this brilliant video! It has taken me almost 20 minutes to wipe away the happy tears enough to reply. I am ecstatic. I am having trouble forming sentences right now because I am so excited haha I could never thank you enough. I love the song choice and I am so thankful you incorporated Amanda’s speech, that was such a special moment. I can’t wait for everyone to see this!! Thank you from the bottom of my heart!”…Sally

North Ridge Country Club Wedding | Jane + Chris

Jane and Chris’s wedding was simple but elegant. Jane included several items from her family that made it very special. The veil she wore is a family veil that was worn by three other women in her family. She also had a small silver spoon brooch on her bouquet that was her grandmothers. Jane and Chris enjoy country music and all the girls changed into their cowboy boots during the reception. They were such a fun couple and simply happy to be together. We loved the time we had with them after the ceremony on the golf course, it was beautiful and so easy for us to just step back and capture.

Lacey + Chris | A West Virginia Wedding

This wedding was very special…I met Lacey when I was about 11 years old and we pretty much became best friends right away. Throughout middle and high school Lacey, our other bestie, Sylvia, and I were inseparable. We grew up together, shared everything, spent many nights at each others houses and had more laughs you could imagine. The three of us knew that no matter where our lives would eventually lead us and how far apart we would physically be that this would be a lifelong friendship, and that’s exactly how it is. No matter how much time and years have gone by, when we see each other it’s as if no time has passed and I will forever be grateful for these two friendships. We made a pact when we were young that we would all be in each others wedding, I missed Sylvia’s wedding a few years ago because I was set to go on a mission trip to Russia, but Lacey got to be there for her. I was so happy to have both of them in my wedding almost 4 years ago! Lacey was 5 months pregnant at the time and came all the way down here to stand by my side, so there was no way I was missing another one of my besties weddings. It’s funny to me that we both married a “Chris”.
Chris and I left Raleigh early friday morning on Memorial Day weekend, and made our way up to Point Pleasant, WV it was just over a 6 hour drive. We got in a little late due to bad weather, but I walked into the rehearsal and there was Lace, cute as always, and as usual our eyes filled with tears of joy to see each other! This weekend was full of excitement, fun, and love. It’s been almost 10 years since i’ve seen some of my dearest childhood friends and it was refreshing! Anytime we all get together there’s nothing but laughing and sharing all our memories together. This was the second wedding in a matter of 2 months that i’ve doubled as bridesmaid and operated a camera, leaving Chris to shoot the ceremony solo like a champ, it was challenging but we are happy with how it came together! Our time together went by way too fast, as soon as the reception got close to the end we packed up the car and headed back to Raleigh to shoot another wedding the next day, it was a crazy weekend but I wouldn’t have missed it for the world! Lace, you are an awesome mother, you were a beautiful bride, and you will be an amazing wife, I love you forever and wish you and Chris all the happiness in the world!

Ashley + David | Brier Creek Wedding

May is such a beautiful month for a wedding! We headed to Brier Creek Country Club for Ashley and David’s big day. David is really into golf, and Brier Creek was the perfect venue for them! The day started out beautiful but you could see the rain clouds slowly moving in, I thought we were in the clear and 30 minutes before the ceremony the call was made to move it inside. It was actually perfect and created a very intimate feel with all of Ashley and David’s friends and family gathered closely around them. Reverend Becky Sansbury did a wonderful job officiating. After the ceremony Brian Mullins and I went outside with the bride and groom for some romantic shots, which turned out beautifully! The reception ballroom was perfectly set with beautiful Pool Blue, Pink and Silver centerpieces by the fabulous Fresh Affairs! Ashley and David made their our own favors with personalized M&Ms in pool blue boxes that were placed on the tables, they reminded me of a Tiffany’s box! The party kicked off with DJ Joe Bunn spinning the latest and greatest. Thank you to Joy Edwards with A Joyful Occasion for all of your hard work and fantastic organization! Congratulations Ashley + David, we wish you the best!!

Jennifer + Kirk | Wilson Wedding

This was a fun wedding filled with a few of our recent brides and grooms as guests and bridal party attendants! The ceremony was held at a beautiful church, Jennifer and Kirk decided not to see each other until Jennifer walked down the aisle. The reception was held at Jennifer’s grandparents home, there is a lake beside the home where a white tent housed the band and black & white dance floor. The property is unbelievably beautiful! It was a wedding filled with love, excitement, close friends & family, and southern charm. Our team got to spend some time with Jennifer and Kirk before the reception began on the property which resulted in some amazing footage! Congratulations Jennifer + Kirk, we wish you the best!!

Kristen + Nathan | Southern Style Fun

Kristen is very detail oriented, so naturally there were a lot of personal little details that held a deep meaning to her. Her mom sewed a special garter for her using her great grandmother’s thread, wedding dress and her mother’s veil. The flowers set the theme for this wedding, they were tropical and included a variety of colors. The bridesmaids wore dark teal infinity dresses, and they each carried a different colored bouquet, Kristen’s bouquet incorporated all of the bridesmaids flowers. During the ceremony, Nathan and Kristen wrote their own little paragraph describing each other, they weren’t considered vows but something to help Nathan’s family see through his eyes what Kristen means to him and to help Kristen’s family see through her eyes what he means to her. This was very special to them and helped pull their story together perfectly and gave the viewer a chance to see what they mean to each other. The reception was held outside at the Howard House, there were tables set up throughout the yard and on the beautiful front porch, the centerpieces on each table were different and intended to be a piece of art. Kristen and Nathan loved the idea of making their guests feel at home and at ease on the southern style front porch of the Howard House and the lawn. In one section of the front yard they had games for the guests; Nathan made Kristen a set of cornhole boards and Kristen painted them with their names and a flower logo. The night ended with an awesome dance party under the stars! Congratulations Mr. + Mrs. Herrmann!

Laura + Samuel :: Wedding Highlight

Laura and Samuel were married March 28, 2011. They were one of our first weddings of the year! We were really looking forward to this because they decided on having a first look and seeing each other before the ceremony. Everybody gathered at Laura’s aunts house before the ceremony for a light brunch and to spend time together. It was really nice to see the blend of 2 families and friends coming together to celebrate. The setting was beautiful and perfect! Samuel arrived first and Laura not long after, the girls snuck upstairs to help Laura get dressed. We got together with Mike Bailey, a great photographer, to plan the perfect location for the first look. Laura finished getting ready and we all got in place to capture this special moment. It went perfectly and was really sweet! Laura and Samuel’s ceremony was in the same church where Laura’s parents were married and they had the same minister that presided over her parents wedding. The reception took place at Sisters’ Garden, which was fun and brought back memories for us because it’s where we had our reception 31/2 years ago! This was a big celebration with a live band, and their closest friends and family. Laura changed into her grandmothers wedding dress at the end of the night just before their getaway in Samuel’s fathers old corvette. This was a traditional, classic wedding with very sentimental touches; we were happy to capture it!

Jessica + Brett :: Wedding Highlight

Jessica and Brett are an absolutely adorable and sweet couple that we clicked with immediately, our consultation ended up turning into just hanging out with friends. It was the second longest consultation that we had and we loved every minute of it! It’s always an honor to film another industry professional’s wedding, Brett is an extremely talented commercial and wedding photographer, check out his work Brett Arthur Photo and Brett Arthur Weddings
Their wedding was filled with southern hospitality and hints of rustic and vintage elements. They did a lot of their own decorations to add more of a personal feel and created a southern down-home feel with Clyde Cooper’s BBQ. All Saints Chapel in downtown Raleigh was the perfect backdrop for their wedding. The guys wore grey suits with suspenders, but didn’t show up how beautiful Jessica looked in her perfectly suited vintage feel dress! The ceremony was one of the most emotional ceremonies we’ve been apart of. After the ceremony we got to go a few blocks to Fayetteville street with the bridal party for a fun photo session, which we absolutely loved! Jessica and Brett surrounded themselves with their closest friends and spent the rest of the night dancing and celebrating! We worked with one of the sweetest and cutest planners, Priscilla Erwin of Orangerie Events!
This wedding is one of our favorites because it was so different, unique and special. It’s always great to work with people who really value what we do, and this couple truly did and that’s what helps in making a great film!
Here’s what Brett had to say about their film :: “Wow. I don’t even know what to say! It’s amazing! Thank you two so much for working with us and completely blowing us away. We watched it over and over again last night. I’m a man, so I never cry, but you managed to make it happen! ( : Kidding, but really, it’s beautiful. Thank you both again! We love it!”
